Social Media Slice for January 4, 2019 : SEARCH ADS RESONATE WITH READERS, CHECKING OUT CONTENT CALENDARS, and FINDING LOST WORD DOCUMENTS

MOTIVATIONAL SLICE

Our #FridayFeeling is from a tweet by Wisdomenlightener @wisdomenlighten (background graphic added).

SLICE is a M-F news digest targeted to assist Social Media Managers and Small Business Owners doing their own marketing.

MAIN SLICE

SEARCH ADS RESONATE WITH READERS- What drives people to click on your account ads running on Google, Bing, YouTube, and Amazon? A new survey provides insights.

Top response? People indicate they favored ads that answered their specific search needs. Really? You should read the report to get the fine points but essentially if somebody is looking for a “snowblower on sale” they won’t click on ads that only promote the bells & whistles of the product. More

SLICE SPECIAL OF THE DAY

CHECKING OUT CONTENT CALENDARS- Short of just handing out your blog writing to contractors (full disclosure, people like me), do yourself a big favor and set up a content calendar for each of your accounts. Unless you like doing the last minute social media scramble at deadline time.

This selected post does indeed promote the Meet Edgar platform but there is a wealth of info applicable if you chose to use another source. More

SLICE INGREDIENTS

FINDING LOST WORD DOCUMENTS- You wrote the new account proposal or blog in Microsoft Word, stepped away, only to return and find it isn’t there anymore. Doesn’t matter if it was the cat, or the computer, where is it? There are ways to look for it. And there are measures you can take to protect your future writing efforts. More

SLICE ON THE GO

RELIEF MAY BE ON HORIZON- American Airlines is reportedly looking at adjusting the body space limitations on bathrooms with arrival of new planes. It has something to do with slab doors— but not making the room itself any bigger. More

As a Social Media Manager or Small Business Owner, what is one of YOUR biggest pain points? Could it be the blogging process? You KNOW you need blogs for improved SEO on Google, but researching, writing, revising to include keywords, and then editing are very time-consuming tasks. Especially if it takes you THREE HOURS to write the first paragraph!

On the other hand, I can write three paragraphs just getting out of bed. Make better use of your time and tap into my over 40 years of experience as a reporter, editor, and free-lance community writer to generate your creative content. – Anthony Scialis, Managing Editor, SoMe Slice
