TIKTOK WHAT IS IT- Basically and watering it down a bit, it is the next shiny new social media marketing darling. TikTok is a China-based app for making & sharing short videos. But, you don’t tap or swipe to move on to the next. You scroll like a feed. Is that enough to create all the FOMO? (500 million active monthly)

The NY Times described it as a platform that “encourages users to jump from audience to audience, trend to trend, creating something like simulated temporary friend groups, who get together to do friend-group things: to share an inside joke; to riff on a song; to talk idly and aimlessly about whatever is in front of you.”

While you may not have any use for it in terms of your local clients, there is value in knowing about it and what is attracting engagement in millennial target markets. More


APPLE NEW CREDIT CARD FOCUSING ON GEN Z- Should your client’s small biz take the new Apple credit card? Should you make a bigger effort to promote that to attract Gen Z target market?

Advertising Age talked with a number of people about this new payment method with Apple Pay at physical stores, online or in apps.

Paul Savaiano, head of strategy at ad agency Walrus is quoted as saying that Gen Z are “more likely to take on another tool if it helps them feel like they’re not just using a cool new tool that inspires them to feel good about money, but helps them actually achieve their financial goals.”
