BANNING SOCIAL MEDIA IN SRI LANKA AND ELSEWHERE- This story is not going away. People seem to think it will. Just a knee-jerk reaction from a small country. But it looks to be the tip of an iceberg that has been floating around international waters and is now bumping into things.

What if social media, as a global network is just not possible when you take into account misuse and abuse by hackers, terrorists and people making irresponsible comments (such as the US President tweeting that the Easter Sunday terrorist attacked in Sri Lanka killed “at least 138 million people.” The population of Sri Lanka is only 21.4 million.)

This article in The Atlantic magazine asks if social media’s ability to help clean up the mess it also helped create enough of a reason to let it continue to exist the way it is now. 👁 More
