For example, Gen Z shoppers in China do most of their shopping on a website called Xiaohongshu, (or Little Red Book) which is part e-commerce portal and part social media platform. Social Shopping–The wave of the future?

While iQiyi’s subscribers (think Netflix) watch programs on their computers, specific web links appear at the bottom of the screen. Click them and shoppers get funneled to the company’s online mall– where they can buy clothes and products used by celebrities on that program.
